Nord-Süd-Konflikt auf anglikanisch - Fortsetzung

Die Church of Uganda bricht alle Verbindungen mit der Episcopal Church of America (ECUSA) ab, die kürzlich den schwul lebenden Gene Robinson zum Bischof weihte. Davon betroffen sind auch die anderen Kirchen, die mit der ECUSA in Gemeinschaft stehen.

So ernst ist es der Church of Uganda, daß sie auch keine finanzielle Unterstützung mehr annimmt. Das nenne ich Konsequenz! Erzbischof Henry Luke Orombi:

"The decision has meant that we are no longer receiving funds as a means of making it clear to the Episcopal Church of the US that such a deliberate action on their part affects the whole of Anglican Communion.

It also serves as a wake-up call on our part to find ways to sustain ourselves honourably. We call upon those advocating for this ungodly behaviour to repent and allow Christ to take charge of his Church." (allAfrica.com)
