Between a rock and a hard place: Anglikanische Optionen

Folgendes schreibt mir ein Freund aus den USA - als inzwischen pensionierter Episcopalian Priest dürfte er seine Kirche kennen:

"The views of Anglicans from other non-North American Provinces is below...

The Archbishop of Canterbury will, of course, do nothing re exhorting the Americans to stop their unilateralism, for he is among the English faction that supports such actions. Funny, isn't it - the Episcopal church condemns the US government for going it alone in foreign policy and war, but doesn't hesitate to take the road to heresy and sin and blow off the international Anglican communion. Ah well, as Jesus said, 'You swallow camels and choke on gnats...or...'take the beam out of your own eye before you take the sliver out of someone else's....

I should also point out that $$$$ will play a part in the pressure the Americans will put on the international communion...eg, as the richest province the others, including Canterbury and almost all international agencies of the communion depend on American bucks and the Americans will not hesitate to withhold the $$$$ from those who disagree with them. This puts Lambeth and the Africans and others between a rock and a hard place..."

Der Bericht, auf den er verweist, stammt von AP und findet sich bei der NY Times.
