Glauben und sehen. Wie das zusammenhängt, lässt sich bei den Blind Boys of Alabama hören. Gospel war bisher nie mein Ding, vielleicht weil ich nur das Golden Gate Quartet von seinen Auftritten im deutschen 70er Jahre-Fernsehen kannte und weder Mahalia Jackson noch Aretha Franklin besonders spannend klangen. Auf dem Country-Sampler "Beyond Nashville" entdeckte ich die Blind Boys mit ihrem "Running on for a long time" und von diesem Sprungbrett ihre letzten CDs Spirit of the Century und Higher Ground. Praise the Lord!
