Zu Ralfs Kommentar fiel mir wieder einmal Father Neuhaus ein:

"'It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.' No doubt. But as long–term readers of this space know, I think a measured cursing of the darkness is also in order. For one thing, when candles are in short supply, it prevents us from feeling at home in the darkness."
